The pictures might be telling you that Motorola Flipout is a chunky mobile with nice display but don't get this wrong idea because the screen is quite small at 2.8 inch screen. The bezel is relatively frugal at 67mm (2.6 inches) squared footprint but with the ability ti slide into almost any pocket.
We won't call it a slider handset because it is NOT. Actually as the name suggests the keypad opens by pivoting the screen at a point in tis bottom right corner. It might be new but the movement is surely not faulty and you can expect it not to give away till the handset's lifetime. It will be refreshing fun for those who were bored with the conventional sliding system.
Making the handset small has its own disadvantages and the most biggest con we felt in this handset is the too small screen. Motorola has provided some highlighting features for the display like Blur implementation, with filtering options and resizable widgets but at 320 X 240 resolution it doesn't quite cut the ice with us. And add the other minor problems like minor glitches with the viewing angle and cheap quality display which makes us give the screen a poor rating.
The quality of its 3 mega pixel camera at just 352 x 288 resolution might cost Motorola quite a few customers who nowadays are quite choosy about the camera while selecting a mobile. Pictures in the normal frame might be fine but don't expect much outside its quadratic boundaries limits.
We will be called biased against Motorola if we don't mention about its beautiful and nice keyboard of Flipout. Though not a match for RIM's luscious BlackBerry keyboards but it is still one of the classic QWERTY keypads on gets to see in the market. The dimensions of the handset might be small but still even the thickest of the finger would find typing easy and enjoyable with full pace. We expect to it catch the eyes and imagination of the young messaging-heavy crowd.
We still don't have much information about the video shooting capabilities but keep in touch to read about it soon. All together the mobile attractive. well designed and well executed mobile phone with a few cons forced due to the budget constraints and due to the aim of keeping the size small which might be a bit of put of for spec junkies.
