Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 review, wallpapers and official trailer video

So finally, we come to an end of the Harry Potter movie series and that too with a 3D end. Yes, you read it right, the last installment of Harry Potter movie series has been completely shot in 3D. Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows part 2 is an extremely entertaining movie, with lots of magical action, wand duels and a lot of talk about Horcruxes. Many of the large contingents of the characters have been given a screen space in this family movie which leads the revenue collections in this genre of movie from over a decade now. It is expected to over fill the coffers of Warner Bros. in this summer holiday season.

If the first part of Deathly Hallows was all thoughtful and elegant with Harry and friends planning their future course of action and dealing with some question related to loyalty and friendship after attaining adulthood, then this part is all about taking action against Lord Voldemort by destroying his Horcruxes and leading the rebellion of Hogwarts against Lord Voldemort and his Death Eater followers. Ralph Fiennes playing the role of Lord Voldemort gives extra-ordinary performance.

After watching the three main characters grow through their childhood has been a pleasurable experience for the audience. The end of the movie series will spell the end of a generation which grew up reading Harry Potter and watching these movies. But after 20 hours of on screen time the end of this series will be a final closure to this fictional series but will leave many others still wanting much more.

The story line of Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows part 2 movie is quite straightforward with Harry cleaning of the unfinished work of Dumbledore by finishing off Volemort’ Horcruxes. These Horcruxes are rips offs of Voldemort’s soul which keep him tied to the life on earth.

The opening of the movie sets the tone for the rest of the story with Harry and his pals infiltrating Gringott’s to get the Horcrux from Bella’s vault. The set up looks awesome in 3D and is complete with the presence of a dragon. Excellent production design and amazing special effects look impressive for the last of a series.

From there the next stop is long awaited Hogwarts where the next Horcrux lies. Here follows the apocalyptic battle between the good and evil and at the end the final battle between Harry and Lord Voldemort.

The story line revolves around the main threesome of Harry, Ron and Hermione who have been the heart and soul of the film from the start. Director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves look like to be in complete understanding and wrap up this installment of the movie keeping close to the story line.

Most importantly, this part is no longer about fun and wacky things in the school with cranky ghosts and moving pictures but is a ground for battle with students and teachers getting ready for the most important fight of their lives. There might have been a lot of talk about Horcruxes and the Hallows but it is clear from the start that everything is finally going to end in Hogwarts only.

Interestingly, another hero of this part of the installment is Neville Longbottom (Matthew Lewis) who is leading the rebellion in the castle before Harry arrives. Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) also finally gets a chance to show off her fighting capabilities against the Death Eaters.

Another surprise for those who haven’t read the book is how the conniving Snape shows his real colors and tells Harry that he was always actually on their side and always loyal to Dumbledore. While dying after being murdered by Lord Voldemort he gives Harry some selected memories which make his every action fall into place. You end up feeling sad for the sorrows and disappointments he has gone in life and might even make you shed a tear.

The product design and special effects are excellent especially in Gringott’s and more in Battle of Hogwarts though in some scenes it looks like 2D would have offered a greater clarity in the scenes although IMAX screenings offer a greater spectacle and drama.
